Farewell Gathering
Otis gave a farewell party yesterday for all the people who volunteered for the evacuaees. The chef made an alligator and turtle out of bread and had it on display when we went through the food line. The Reverend Brown was there. He is a Baptist minister from Cambridge who became the 'mayor' of the village and was the official welcoming committee when they arrived. He boarded their plane and said a prayer with them and for them before they got off the plane. Wonderful person. He gave three presents to head people who ran the helping hands operation. This one is a picture of a carved musical instrument that was made by Africans.
