Happy Birthday George!!

Yes! Today is George's 58th birthday. I got him a couple of pieces of nice luggage before we went on vacation. He wanted one that he could put his computer in and have a section for a few pieces of clothing when he goes to get fire trucks. Also, a larger one for when we go on a trip.
This is Barbara and David from Manitowoc, Wisconsin. He was in the service with George and they've remained friends. We met them at a nice restaurant. There is a new convention center behind this restaurant that we went and checked out. Dave and Barbara are standing in the lobby of the convention center.

This is Alex Anderson. She hosts a television show called, "Simply Quilts". She gave two lectures that I attended. She was very inspirational and funny.
We were also treated to a Bernina (name of sewing machine company) fashion show and luncheon. These are some of the clothes that were worn by the models. They are beautiful when worn by the models.

Here are more interesting quilts from Chicago. I found the bird quilt fascinating. It's hard to believe that it's all cloth. It looks more like a picture to me. She even made it look like it's in the grass and weeds along the shore. The other one fascinated me with all the work in it. They call these Baltimore Albums and they've always fascinated me. Maybe some day I'll make one for myself.

Chicago Quilt Festival

Here are a couple of quilts from the Chicago Quilt Fest. I enjoyed my classes and seeing all the beautiful quilts. I like the one to the right with the Bird of Paradise especially. It's a lot of work and to me it looks like suede. They were all beautiful! I hope to post some more tomorrow.

Venice Nearly Grown Up!

Here's Venice just about all grown up. He passed puppy school with flying colors and now he's on to graduate school. He's so smart.
We'll be heading back to Cape Cod tomorrow and have Easter dinner on Sun. with Erin, JoAnna, and Kenny. Have a happy Easter everyone.

Isn't Dolcie sweet? She's so cute sleeping on Erin's bed. I miss her but I know Erin's taking good care of her and I'll see her soon. Of course, I'll see Erin soon too!! Thanks Erin for taking care of her.

Back to Florida!

We're back in Florida to check our squirrel problem. So far it looks like they are gone. As soon as George is sure, he'll patch the hole in the ceiling and in the screen. So, let's all hope that is the end of it.

Quilt Fest in Chicago!

We're here in Chicago for me to go to the quilt fest and for George to explore the area. My long days begin tomorrow with classes and then with the actual quilt show opening tomorrow night. There is a lot to do and a lot to see.

All Dressed Up!!

This isn't our cat, but it reminds me of the saying, "All dressed up and nowhere to go"! Actually we're off to Chicago (minus our cat) to the quilt fest and then on to Flordia to check the little squirrel buggars down there. Hope they are gone!!
