My Sister, Carleen

This was my sister, Carleen at 1 yr old in 1961. She weighed 4lb 13oz at birth and had to be put in doll clothes because she was so tiny. I remember one pink dress in particular. She looked just like a doll in it. She has cancer and is gravely ill and is not expected to live very long. Please say a prayer for her. Also, please make sure that you do your yearly check ups with your doctor and have exams. This may have been prevented had she done this! May peace be with her!

More Quilts from Quilt Guild

More quilts from the ladies at our guild. The first one is Sheila's wedding quilt for her Asian daughter-in-law to be. If you click on it, you can see the Asian symbols. The next one is Joanna's with a 3-D affect to it. Marion's is pretty with all the varied colors and Terry's is a raffle quilt for the hockey team. Pretty, bright colors!

Quilt Guild - April 1, 2010

Among other quilts, the ladies showed off their 'bargello' quilts. A woman in the guild had a class to teach how to make these quilts! There is Joan's, then Judy's and then Katy's. They all came out so different and so pretty!

Mutual Muses!

The Cultural Center had an exhibit of 'mutual muses'. One person would do a painting, or a quilt, or sculpture and a poet would write a poem to complement it. Then a poet would write a poem and other other would do a painting, quilt or sculpture to complement it. JoAnna did a quilt of a tree and called it Abloom and someone wrote a poem about it. Then someone wrote a poem about a turtle called, Galapagos George and JoAnna made quilt to complement it. The exhibit is very good. It'll be there until the 11th of April.
