Sunday Night Concert!

Suzanne and I went to a concert Sunday night at the Cultural Center. It was great. There were three singers and musicians: Aoife (pronounced Effie) Clancy, Chuck Colley, and Eric Wendelsken. They write music and play several instruments. Chuck plays a Dobro, which is a resonating guitar played in your lap. This was invented by the Dopyera brothers, so it comes from Do of their name and bro from brothers. Also, I found out that dobro means good in their native Slovac language. It was very good and very mellow. I saw Susan Tedeschi at the Melody Tent the other night and she was way too loud. Her band members were excellent musicians, but she was too loud.

Raffle Quilt!

I made a quilt to be raffled off for the Relay for Life Cancer Walk. I raised almost $300.00 this year. When it came time to pull the winning ticket, I asked someone who hadn't bought a ticket to reach in and grab the winning ticket. I wanted to be completely fair. It was won by my friend, Vicky! I'm so glad I didn't pull out the winning ticket. People would have thought that it was rigged!!

More Progress on Office!

More progress has been made on the office. Of course, George is off again, so his side is still in limbo. The first picture is looking into the office from the hallway. You only see the back of our desks. George's side is kind of a mess but he has a lot of wires to hide and get more straightened out. He finally put up the clock I got for my birthday two years ago. I like it a lot. You may have to click on the picture to see it better!

Quilts from Quilt Guild-June 2009

It was our last guild meeting for the summer. It was nice to see so many pretty quilts from Mary Ann, Sunny. Carole and Carol! I don't think I'll be doing much quilting this summer (at least June or July) as I'll be a bit busy!! I'll be looking forward to going back in Sept.

Making Some Progress!!

I'm making some progress. My side of the room is more settled! I've got quite a few of the boxes out of the living room and some more from around the table! It's not quite so daunting now! It'll still be a while before it's done and I don't know where anything is at the moment, but it'll all come together!
