Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

Tomorrow is the beginning of breast cancer awareness month. Go the thebreastcancersite.com/ and click for free mammograms. That is so important! Many don't have insurance and can't afford to have them. Our sister, Karen, has been gone for 14 yrs. from breast cancer. We've all lost people or know others who have lost loved ones to breast cancer.

Dolcie!

A sad day yesterday--Our beloved cat, Dolcie, was taken by a fox or coyote yesterday. It was so horrifying. I saw it running up the road with our cat in it's mouth. I chased it, but couldn't find it. I'm sure she was already dead by then. I cried off and on all day yesterday. Alison got Dolcie as a tiny kitten 14 years ago. She named her Dolcie because that means sweet and she certainly was a sweetie. She was a great cat and we'll miss her.

More from our quilt guild!

Like I said, we have some very talented ladies and I'm glad that they share it with all of us. There was some debate as to whether we'd have another quilt show next year. We all agree it's a lot of work and some didn't want to be bothered. Finally our president persuded us to help each other and put one on next year. I hope it goes well. I know they are a lot of work. I worked on the committee.

Show & Tell at Quilt Guild 9/7//06

Yes, it's time to go back to our quilt guild. It seems like just yesterday that we had out picnic at Grey's beach in June. That was fun for everyone with lots of food, laughs and games. The ladies had a lot to show for show and tell. The picture with the boat is the label for the back of the raffle quilt. Maureen did a great job on that. The raffle quilt went to a woman from Orleans. It was all quilted by hand and gorgeous. The other quilt is a scrap quilt that Doris made and she also did a fancy back on it. They sure were busy this summer. I was busy on my deck! Not much sewing or quilting. I'm getting back to it now.

More from Toronto!

The hotel was very nice. It had a water fall in the center. Pretty. I enjoyed the pool. Hard to believe you're in the middle of the city when you're in the pool. We went on a harbor cruise. The food was lousy, but the cruise was nice. Toronto is a pretty city from the water. The fire boat greeted us and did a show for us. Very nice!!
