More Quilts!

This wallhanging was at the last quilt show I went to.  I just love it.  So interesting!

I'd like to make one something like this for my own table only bigger.  It's very pretty.

We get together once a month in Brewster to sew, sit, gab, and have 'show and tell'  This a quilt that a bunch of friends made for one of our members of our Cape Cape Quilter's quilt guild.  It was her birthday and she said she'd always wanted a purple car..  Now she has one!  Couldn't wait to show it to us.
This is one that one of Brewster sewers was working on.  Isn't it pretty??

More Quilts!

Our guild is doing quilts for wounded warriors again.  They hope to have a lot to give by this November.  They will go to the VA in Brockton.  They want them to be about 36" by 36" so they are wheelchair usable and won't get caught in the wheels.  This is an example of one that someone has completed.  I hope to get two finished before November.
This is a quilt that our guild is donating to be raffled off at the Breast Cancer Walk this fall.  Quite a few of us in our guild made the squares and then Mary Spurr put it all together.  I made quite a few blocks.  The ones that have the light pink star in the center are my blocks. You can click on it and see the squares better.   It was fun to do.  I hope they make lots of money.

My 65th Birthday!

I used to hate to tell people my age.  Now I say, what the heck!!  I'm happy to have made it this far.  Unfortunately, both my sisters didn't make it to 50.  So, I'm blessed!!  George got me a sewing machine for my birthday.  It's what I wanted.  I wanted a small one that I could lift easy and take to workshops.  We had to go off the Cape yesterday, so he suggested that we go to the Quilt shop in Canton on the way and get this.  We got a good deal plus he is holding the payment until Saturday so we can get it tax free! My friend, Rita, came by with this lovely necklace for me.  Love the color.  So thoughtful.  Thanks.  Went to the Piccadilly Deli this morning and they put a candle in a whoopie pie and sang happy birthday to me.  Very nice. It was nice to be surrounded by friends, Lee and John, Allen and Judy.  Ed and Suzanne couldn't be there.  They had a prior commitment, but I know they were there in spirit!  Got lots of nice wishes on Facebook and lovely cards!!   Later we are having a cookout with JoAnna, Kenny, Erin and Denim.  All in all, a great day!!
