Our Trip to Florida!

Jan. 24th Linda, Rita, and I started our trip to Florida. The pictures uploaded backwards. The bottom one is in Fredericksburg and the top is Linda and Rita at our Kissimmee house. We stopped the first night in Fredericksburg, Va. at a brand new Hampton Inn. It was beautiful. I have a picture of Rita and Linda with the luggage carrier. We sure were cold. The next night we stayed in Savannah at another Hampton Inn. It was okay, but not as nice as the one in Virginia. I think we were spoiled by the first one. We liked Savannah. Rita got to see Paula Deen's restaurant. They are so busy, that at 10:00 AM the next reservation they could take was 3:15PM. We decided not to wait. That's Rita standing by the Host's station. It's where they take your reservation. They have horse drawn carriage rides also. We looked around the town and then headed for Kissimmee. Rita had a bunion operation 3 weeks ago and has to wear this boot. We think she really wants to emulate Tom Brady!! It was a good trip!

More from Saturday Quilt Day

We all had a good time being together. Peg put blocks together with red being the predominant color. These are going to an orphanage in Bulgaria. Vickie even got a cake for the occasion. She had them put SSS on it for Saturday Sewing Society.

Saturday Sewing Society

On Sat. ten of us met at the Brewster senior center from 9 to 4 to sew, chat, and eat. We had a great time. Here are some of the projects that we were working on. Ruth is on the left with her table runner. Peg and I are admiring her work. Nancy, in the bottom picture, is showing us her finished quilt for her nephew and the fish bowl is what she put on the back for a label.

Cypress Gardens, Florida

I went to Florida last Monday and Suzanne joined me there on Thursday until Sunday. On Friday, we went to Cypress Gardens. It was very nice there. The weather was gorgeous and it was very peaceful walking around. Of course, I forgot my camera. I got these pictures off the internet. Suzanne took a few pictures and she'll email them to me when she gets back home. They had some beautiful topiaries that I'd like to post. Now I'm back to winter weather for a while.

Our Doggy Friends!

Venice and Maggie Mae look cute in their Christmas collars. They are so busy. Here we have Karin and Jeff's new puppy, Gracie, playing with their other dog, Jetty. He's accepted her very well and they play together a lot. Of course, she always wants the toy that he's has. The picture of them on the dog bed is cute. He looks like he's saying, 'how long do I have to watch her?'
