Still in Florida

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. Ours was wonderful. Erin, Alison, Brian, Bob, Susan, Ed, Suzanne, Joe, George and I had Thanksgiving on our porch. It was near 80 degrees with a little breeze. Very nice! Bob, Susan and Ed and Suzanne stayed out at Disney Pop Century and it was very nice. It was good to all be together.

Sunny Florida!

Here we are in sunny Florida. I tried to upload a picture, but it wouldn't work. We are relaxing. Bob and Susan have arrived, gone over to Marketplace, and will return later. The rest of the gang starts arriving tomorrow with Ed and Suzanne and then Erin, Joey, Alison & Brian. Everyone have a great Thanksgiving!

Two Wallhangings!

The beach scene wallhanging is one I did in class on 11/5/05 with one of the nicest quilt teachers I've taken from in a long time. She was very calm and helpful. The other wallhanging is one I did on my own. I wanted to do one that wasn't a beach scene. These were fun to do and didn't take very long.

Another Pretty Quilt!

Radiant Roses! Do I think all quilts are pretty? Mostly, I do, but there are some that I don't care for at all. It's all preference. What one person likes in color or design, another may not. I do like to look at them and all the work that goes into them.
It was down in the 30's last night and today is supposed to be in the high 50's. Right now, at 8 am, it's only 36, so I highly doubt if it'll get into the 50's around here. Have a nice day, wherever you are, and stay warm and dry!!

Veterans' Day!

Don't forget our past and present veterans!!! We wouldn't have our freedoms if it weren't for the veterans! We should all say thank you to our veterans.

A Visit with Mary!

Ed, Suzanne and I had a nice visit with Mary on Sunday. She looked great. She says she hasn't been feeling that great and is having a test on Wednesday. She's to have a scan of her spine because it hurts. We wish her the best.

Follow the Quilt Trail

Driving through scenic northeast Tennessee, you'll find giant quilt blocks on barns. They are part of "Follow the Quilt Trail" project that was started in August 2004 through the Appalachian Resource Conservation & Development Councils of Tennessee, Kentucky, and Ohio. They search the area and talk to the owners of the property to see if they have a family quilt. If possible, they recreate a block from the quilt on the barn. I'd love to drive the trail sometime and find all the blocks. Go to: www.quilttrail.org to find out more about this project.

Pretty Quilt

This is a quilt from the Houston Quilt Show. The show is held in Octobert every year. Maybe some time I'll be able to go to it. It's bigger than the one in Chicago.

Too Cute!!

These puppies are so adorable! They are Portuguese Water Dogs. Our friends, Karin and Jeff are adopting one as soon as it's old enough (right around Christmas time). They are thinking of naming it Watson--wouldn't that be something?? I just want to hold one. My grandmother used to raise cocker spaniels and these puppies remind me of them. These dogs will have curly hair and will be a lot bigger than a spaniel, but they just remind me of her puppies.

Isn't this bear cute! I have this pattern but have only made it in a pillow for my grand-nephew. Catherine has made 2 of these quilts.

Are you a Christmas Tree

Alison dressed as a Christmas tree at work and then had to drive to the other branches to judge the costumes. Good job Alison, clever and cute!

Look Who Came to our Door!!

Isn't this cute? Phoebe sent this to me with some other Halloween pictures. I thought this was the cutest. We only had about 8 kids show up last night. Kind of sad that there are only that many kids around here. I wish this 'gang' had shown up so I could have some laughs!!
