Mike's Helmet!

My nephew, Mike, wants me to make this helmet in quilting for him. I'm not sure I can do this for him. This looks very hard to duplicate in a quilt wallhanging. I told him I'd keep my eyes open for materials that looks like that, but I kind of have my doubts about finding anything that would match this and then be able to create it.
He and Tamara left Tuesday for St. Lucia and I'm sure by now most of their guests have arrived there too. They'll be on my mind tomorrow, their wedding day, surrounded by family and friends. I'm glad Mark and Matthew are going and Dan also, as well as many family and friends.

This is a pretty picture. Some day George and I will have to get out there to visit. We haven't been there since 2000 when she graduated.

Whale Trail!!

Can you find all the whales? Fifty whales have been designed and hand-painted by different artists and placed all over Cape Cod and the Islands. A lot of them are in Hyannis, but they are also from Bourne to Provincetown, Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard . Each whale is sponsored by a local company or organization. At the end of the summer, they will be auctioned off. The proceeds will go to the charity or non-profit organization chosen by the sponsor. So, see if you can find all of the whales!

Venice is Shocked at the Price of Gas!

Like the rest of us, Venice is shocked at the price of gas! He now has to work at the reception desk in the vet's office as the official greeter so he can buy it. It's a doggone shame to make the little guy work like that, but he seems to love it!!

Alison's Picture Quilt!

Alison made this picture quilt for her friend Kathleen. She and Alison work at the same company and these are pictures of other friends in the company. Good job, Alison!

JoAnna's Race

JoAnna organized the race for the Cultural Center on June 17th. This was her 3rd consecutive year. It was a lot of work. She got volunteer help from the cultural center people and from CERT. Kenny ran in it this year with his friend. They sure look sweaty at the end. It was a humid day. JoAnna ran in it as well as organized it. I helped out with registration and George helped out with setting things up.

Visit with Tamara and Mike!

I had a great visit! I got to meet Tamara the first night. We got along great but unfortunately, she had to travel for work and I didn't get to see her again. They loved the quilt. I'm showing the label on the back with their picture on Cape Cod and their invitation. Mike and I got to take a harbor tour that was fun and informative. The captain was a nut and one of the passengers took our picture with him. I got to see Sue and her boys, who have grown quite a bit since I saw them the last time. We had a nice relaxing time on her deck and to the quilt store. It was a fast, but very enjoyable trip.

Going to See My Nephew and Girlfriend!

This is Tamara and Mike. Aren't they a good looking couple?? I'm going to meet her for the first time and give them their wedding gift early as I can't fly to St. Lucia in July to be at their wedding. I'm giving them this quilt to remind them of their time in the Caribbean. I used this picture of them and their invitation for the label on the back. Good luck to both of them.

Breakfast for Margaret's 90th Birthday!

Margaret is in the light pink at the head of the table. Doesn't she look wonderful? She used to be in our low-impact aerobics class until about a year and a half ago. Exercise is probably what has kept her going all these years.

Fashion Show in Osterville!

Last Thursday was a gorgeous day here on Cape Cod. A bunch of us from our health club went to a great fashion show in Osterville. First we had cocktails or a soft drink with crackers and cheese out on the deck overlooking the ocean. It was so pretty out there that we hated to go in for the fashion show. The meal and the fashion show were just great. I won a hat and a gift certificate to Cumberland Farms.

Turtle in JoAnna's Yard!

JoAnna and Kenny saw a turtle in their yard last evening. Both cats got the scent of it and had to check it out. The turtle decides to leave with all of us and the cats looking at it.

Picnic with Quilting Ladies at Gray's Beach!

Our quilt guild had our annual picnic at Gray's Beach! We all got there around 4:00 in the afternoon. We had a good time. We ate, played a few games, revealed our secret sisters, and ate, and ate. We don't get together again until Sept. We wished each other a good summer.
