Quilters Weekend in Eastham

We had a quilter's weekend in Eastham at the Sheraton. It was very nice. A few quilts that people brought for show and tell at the weekend. Very pretty! We had a very nice group. The bottom picture shows a bunch of us working hard on our projects.

Saturday Sewing Society!

It was time for Saturday Sewing Society again! How did that come around so fast?? My grandmother used to say that the older one got, the faster time went! Of course, when I was young, I thought that was a crazy statement. But, now I know. I just can't believe how fast time is flying. Tomorrow is the first day of spring! There weren't many of us there on Sat. A few of us didn't feel like doing much sewing. Sally, showed us her quilt that she designed and hopes to get sold to a magazine. It was Nancy's birthday, so Jan made her a cake with sprinkles of shamrocks on it. We all had a nice day!

Quilts from Quilt Guild

Sally, who is very new to quilting designed this quilt. I've been quilting for almost 14 years and I don't think I could design a quilt by myself. The next two pictures are of two of these quilts all bound and quilted and ready to go. We are going to give them in June!

Our Little Lena!

Just came back from a visit to Alison, Scott, and Lena! She's getting so big and so cute. Of course, smart too!! We took her to a park to give her a swing. She looks totally alone here but, believe me, we were both right there. We met Scott in Baltimore to have lunch and she sat in a high chair like a big girl. She loves her bath!

Odds and Ends

Christine made this dragonfly quilt. Would love to try one like it sometime. The next two quilts were made for the Wounded Warrior project. Our guild is making quilts for them. These are a little long. They want wheelchair size so that the quilts will cover their laps but won't get caught in the wheels. They are all quilted now and bound and will be sent to them soon when we get more made up. They are quite easy to make. I've made 20 blocks so far and hope to make more. The next picture is a new tv stand that we got for Florida. For Christmas, the kids chipped in and got us a gift certificate to get a new flat screen tv for Florida. George put the stand together when we were there in Jan. Now we hope to get the tv soon. The last picture is a bunch of turkey that were in our yard a while ago. They sure are big!

More Quilts from Quilt Guild

More quilts from our talented ladies! The top and bottom quilts are Sally's. She gave the tree of life one to her mother-in-law. Family members names are on written on the leaves. The middle quilt is Jean's. Very nice.
