More Adventure

We had lunch with an old friend and caught up on everyone's news. We also got an opportunity to see cranberries being 'wet' picked. These will be used for cranberry juice. It was very interesting!

Susan Webber's visit!

Susan visited from Maryland and arrived on Saturday in that huge windstorm! She said it wasn't too bad even though they were almost an hour delayed out of Baltimore. After her arrival and a quick bite to eat, we were hearty troupers in all that wind and rain, and off we went to Chatham to the library geneology department. She spent quite a lot of time there getting information and then we were off to the cemetery in Chatham to look for gravestones of her relatives. The next morning we went to church and then to the deli with Erin and Mary. After that we were back to chatham to the cemetery again and then off to Provincetown which was fun and interesting. I'm taking her to my water class today and then to lunch with an old friend. Then she'll head back to Baltimore late in the afternoon.

Halloween Fun!

Don't let Phoebe's little 'devils' scare you. It's all in fun. Her older one passed about a few months ago and, of course, is never forgotten. Little Venice has stolen everyone hearts and fits right in with her work, walks, etc. Have a great Halloween everyone!

Projects and Show N Tell from weekend!

One class was 'spirit doll'. This bright colored one fascinated me. All the dolls were great. The placemats class was interesting because everyone's came out different. Also, the santa wallhanging was great too.

Quilt Weekend!

It was a great weekend. The hotel in Eastham is lovely and we all got busy working on our projects. Look at Cindy's wild animal quilt and Cory's soft baby quilt. Pat was queen for the weekend as she got a surprise in her welcoming gift of a ring that made her the queen, plus beautiful flowers. We enjoyed each other's company.

More of Seaside parade!

Reenie, it's only the militia!! Reenie hates when they shoot the guns and they always do in front of the committee. Everyone else, including the little white dog on the float, seemed to enjoy the parade. Erin with Samantha and friends, enjoy it too! Jan,our leader, enjoys the Highland Light Band (bagpipes and drums). She gives the woman a nice thank you hug! The committee gets to sit in special bleachers to enjoy the parade. In fact, there's Rhonda (with a drink-it's coke, of course!), Laurie, and Jan (clapping). Maybe they're looking at George's truck and the float or that cute boat!

Seaside Parade

The parade was fun this year. It wasn't quite as big as in years past, but it was good anyway. George pulled JoAnna's float from Mattacheese school. The theme was 'the wind in your sails' and the float won for best interpretation of theme. Good job!!! George your truck looks good too! More tomorrow.

More from Seaside Festival

JoAnna and a teacher from Dennis plan on taking their classes to Quebec in the spring. They are having many fund raisers from now until they go to help defray the costs to each student. At the Seasdie festival they rented a dunk tank and then charged people to try and dunk them. I think they did quite well with it.

Seaside Festival

The 2006 Yarmouth Seaside Festival was a great success this year. The weather for all 3 days was wonderful--no rain!! Everyone seemed to have a good time. The raptor man (the ones with all the birds of prey) had tons of people in front of his show.

Quilt Guild!!

We had a guest speaker at our guild last night. Her name is Christine Fries-Ureel. She lives in Vermont and is a quilt teacher. She's entered quilts in quilt shows and won! I especially like the one she calls Miranda the Tempest! The blowing hair is unbelievable in detail. You can feel that you are actually looking out to sea at a shipwreck!! She said it took her 10 months to complete. The baby floating in the water took her almost as long to make! I'll post some more of her work in the next few days.
