More from Chicago!
I got to speak with Alex Anderson who was the host of 'Simply Quilts'. A woman was kind enough to take our picture. She was nice to talk to. This quilt from the Mitford book series is well done and interesting. I enjoyed reading the series of books of this mythical town that brought back memories and nostalgia of growing up on Cape Cod in the late 50's and 60's. Of course, I also enjoy the 'beach' quilt. Wonderful quilt festival!

Beautiful Quilts from Chicago
The Chicago Quilt Festival was spectacular again this year. I had a wonderful time (once I got there!!). These are just 3 of the beautiful quilts. These flowers look like you could pick them and smell them. The tumbling boy is so life-like and nostalgic. The one of the birds at shore is my favorite-very relaxing and comforting. I'll have a few more tomorrow plus my picture with Alex Anderson from Simply Quilts!

After the Nor'easter!
We had heavy winds and rain yesterday afternoon and through the night. A person in the park lost their awning. I don't think it damaged the trailer, just knocked the awning down. A huge tree also came down but just brushed along the side of a trailer and didn't do any damage. We lost a few roof shingles on our house and had many branches fall down around us. It isn't down to bare wood, but we have to replace the shingles as soon as we can. I'm glad that's all the damage that any of us received.

Fun In Kissimmee!
While in Kissimmee, I finished a small quilt top (the bottom picture) and donated it to Claudia's church group to quilt and give to their charity. I had also completed a table runner before Christmas at one of her group workshops. We left Kissimmee on Wed to fly to Chicago to go to the quilt festival. We thought it was going to be a nice, leisurely day. It was anything but leisurely! They were having a snow storm in the Chicago area and our plane was delayed twice. We had to stay 11 hours at Orlando airport. We finally got to leave around 9:45 pm. When we got to our hotel room, the heat was on ultra high and it was about 90 degrees in the room. We had to open the window and turn the airconditioner on and wait about 30 min before the room cooled down enough to go to the bed. This was at midnight central time, which was 1:00 am to us!! We were very tired. The quilt festival was very nice and informative and I enjoyed it. I'm glad to be back home safe and sound in our own home though. There's nothing like coming back home!!

Making Comfort Quilts with Claudia and Friends!
Claudia asked me to join her and a few ladies to help make quilts to be given to charities. The ladies meet every other Sat in the church to make quilts. It was nice to get together with other women who have the same interests and want to make quilts for people of need. The first picture shows Claudia and others in the corner 'sandwiching' (putting together all three layers) a quilt. The bottom one shows her folding material to be cut for a quilt. We had a nice time sewing and chatting and then we were off to lunch a little shopping!

More Guild Quilts
Nancy's 'Red Quilt' was done in a weekend! It's prettier in person because it shows up all the different reds better. This 'Tesselations Quilt' is interesting. I love cats! and Maureen's quilt for her daughter-in-law is very pretty. Maureen always does intricate and wonderful quilts. Great job everyone!

The first quilt is going to be our raffle quilt for our quilt show. Trish made it and had it machine quilted. Good job!! The next 2 are from our members for Show & Tell. Joan is showing off her spring jacket and Maureen has done a baby quilt called the 'Night Visitor'! As always, a good job everyone!!
