Spinning Circles!

I saw a quilt similar to this in a quilt store in Concord, MA. I told the owner of the shop that I wanted to make one sort of like the one she had hanging up. She helped me pick out the materials. Some materials very different from the quilt that she had hanging there. I went back the next day after purchasing all the material to do a sketch of the quilt to see where she had put her black material and she told me that it was copywrited and I wasn't allowed to do a sketch of it. I was furious, but decided to do it on my own from memory. The quilter said she thinks this is better than the one hanging in the store!! Click on the picture and see the detail that the quilter put into it. Fantastic!

Quilt for Relay for Life!!

On June 19 and 20, I'm going to be in the Relay for Life Walk at D-Y High school. I've made this quilt to raffle off to help make some money. We can't call it a raffle. We have to call it a drawing, otherwise the state will take half the money! I took it to the quilter yesterday. Immediately, she said she pictured quilting it in hearts. I can't wait to see it. She said she'll have it ready in 2 weeks.

Whale Watching!!

On Wed, Linda, Rita and I went to Provincetown to go whale watching. It was fantastic!! Unbelievable!!! We saw 27 whales which is very unusual. There was finback, which never show their tails, humpback, which usually show their tails and the endangered Atlantic right whale. In the distance a whale was crashing it's big fin on the top of the water. Amazing!! It was a beautiful day!!

George's 60th Surprise Party!

We surprised George last night with a 60th birthday party at Sam Diego's--his favorite restaurant! He was quite surprised. Karin had a cake made for him with Florida and Mass on it and a fire truck. The girls gave him a barrel stave with a picture of Scituate light painted on it. He like it a lot. Click on the pictures to get a better view. George isn't smiling a lot and looks grumpy, but he said he enjoyed it and had a good time. We all had a good time!!

Car Wash Convention

When George and I were at the car wash convention in Florida, we were all taken to Epcot. They fed us supper and then this giant slinky came on stage. It's hard to believe that a man is in that thing, but he was. Before we went to Epcot, we met at the Peabody hotel. At 11:00 am everyday ducks are brought down to float in a fountain and then at 5:00 pm they are taken away. The fountain seemed small to us. We missed the ducks being taken away but a boy is helping the man roll up their red carpet.
